The Vision Project
The Vision project is the latest, and arguably most complex, capital project to be undertaken by Ripon Cathedral. The electrical circuits within the Cathedral are antiquated and have grown piecemeal since electrical power was first introduced at the beginning of the twentieth century. This haphazard approach has left the Cathedral at risk from the current state of electrical supply, and of failing to meet existing Health and Safety requirements. Additionally the Cathedral does not fully conform to the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act in respect of lighting levels in parts of the Cathedral. This project will seek to reduce the very real risk of fire, brought about through faulty electrical circuits.
